Arthur Jarvis University, the Premier Private University in Cross River State, in her magnanimity, has donated some funds to support the renovation of a Magistrate Court in Ogoja local government area, Cross River State.
This was an act of her Corporate Social Responsibility as an institution of higher learning.
The Founder and Chancellor of Arthur Jarvis University, Sir Arthur Jarvis Archibong, believes in the profession of law and places its practitioners as sacred beings, thus, would not allow such a highly placed profession be subjected to scorn by the long delapidated nature of the court building for over 25 years.
In his quote published in 2020, Sir Jarvis said “I do not see Law as just a profession. I see lawyers as sacred, spiritual, the very hope, conscience, soul of human existence. Lawyers blind to these are on the wrong side of the temple. They endanger both human, animal and plant. They stand on the precipice and await the final fall”
The appeal to renovate the court building was initiated by the Chief Editor of Cross River Watch, Agba Jalingo, and has since received donations from well meaning philanthropists and corporate entities.
